Q: Are you a freelance designer/own your own business?
A: No. I work for Kitchen Design Concepts in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex in Texas as a residential kitchen and bath designer and as a social media coordinator. You are more than welcome to ask if we are a good company fit for you and your project though!
Q: Can I hire you to do a small design project for me?
A: Unfortunately, I do not do freelance work. However, if you have any quick general questions, send me an email, or get an even faster response by sending me a DM on Instagram: @rhelenedesign
Q: Do you have a presenter fee, and how do I have you speak to my group?
A: My NKBA certified CEU course is hosted exclusively for the NKBA. You can learn more about this from your local NKBA Chapter or by checking out their National Chapter Presentation Program. For any other presentations, email me directly.
Q: What does the “CMKBD” stand for next to your name?
A: This means that I am a “Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer” through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). I have met all of the requirements and passed my certification exam to hold this appellation, and continue to keep it by attending continuing education courses even year. I earned my AKBD in 2016, leveled up to my CKBD in 2020, and received my CMKBD in 2022! You can learn more about NKBA Certification here.
Q: What does the “CKBR” stand for next to your name?
A: This means that I am a “Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler” through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). I have met all of the requirements and passed my certification exam to hold this appellation, and continue to keep it by attending continuing education courses even year. I earned my CKBR in 2022. You can learn more about NARI CKBR Certification here.
Q: What is Kitchen Design Concepts and what do you do there?
A: Kitchen Design Concepts is a turnkey, design and remodel company in the Dallas metroplex. We focus mainly on kitchens and baths and do everything from the measuring, designing, and ordering to the permitting, construction, and installation. I am one of the designers on staff. We also provide cabinet design and procurement to designers, architects, builders, and other industry professionals that do not have access to their own manufactured lines.
Q: You know kitchen and baths, but what makes you qualified to talk about Social Media?
A: Honestly, I do NOT have a formal education in social media, marketing, and/or communication like others who work for marketing and public relation firms, nor do I have formal education in SEO. However, I have been working as a Social Media Coordinator since 2016 and help run communications for several non-profit groups I am a part of. I try to stay away from paid promotions and the like discussing the “free” stuff, with a focus on how to use these platforms and supporting applications more specifically for the design industry.
Q: How do I ask a question or request a topic for you to cover on your blog?
A: Simple! Send me a DM or comment on Instagram, or check out my Contact page for other options!
